What’s up with the newest SKAM shows you ask?

Runaway, a play about love, loss, acceptance, and extraterrestrials, is part of Kaleidoscope Theatre’s Family Theatre Fest. Written by Mika Laulainen and based on her 2012 Bike Ride piece,  Runaway runs May 2-4!

Fashion Machine is back! Training for our young designers begins soon, and the show where kids make your best outfit better will be running June 6-8.

Bike Ride is gearing up for July! We have an exciting bunch of shows lined up for SKAM’s annual outdoor theatre festival…we hear there might even be a princess or two.

Joan, the play inspired by its co-creator Joan Mans, previewed at the Metro Theatre in Victoria April 17-20! Formerly known as My Memory’s Not So Good, the show previously had a reading with tech and surprises at the Belfry SPARK Festival on March 19, 2012. This work followed a week-long residency the previous October at the Banff Centre when SKAM took Ian Case, Jan Wood, Lynda Raino and Spencer Sacht-Lund into a week of dramaturgy supported by a crew of fine technicians. Thanks to the Belfry, the BC Arts Council, the Leon and Thea Koerner Foundation, The Victoria Foundation and Legacies Now 2010 for their support of this project. We appreciate the faith.

Cariboo Buckaroo continues to tour, having just returned from MT Space Theatre in Kitchener, Ontario. We have awesome t-shirts for adults and kids, and a tech rider available if you’d like to bring the Buckaroo to your town…

Smalltown: A Pickup Musical The show on the truck premiered summer of 2013 at Victoria High School, with the fully-outfitted Mobile Performance Venue making preview stops in parks across the CRD. Stay tuned for more info on where the show will pick-up-and-go next…

A reading of the in-development Shop Talk was held at the Pacific Opera Victoria scene shop, and has gone back into rewrites as Matthew tightens the seams and sands down the corners…
